Billing Errors Are Rampant in Custom Home Construction. I Find Them — or You Pay Nothing.

I specialize in auditing custom home Draw Invoice Packets to uncover indisputable error — often worth six figures — before your final payments are made. This is the kind of independent oversight that's standard on every commercial project, but somehow is almost unheard of in residential construction.

What I do:

  • Review all draw packets — current and historical

  • Identify duplicate charges, overbilling, and miscredited deposits

  • Present findings in an organized, professional, and indisputable way

  • Help recover your credits visibly or as a ghost — your call

  • Preserve your relationship with your general contractor throughout

Across my first 13 Park City clients, I have recovered more than $3 million in billing errors — including $438,000 in duplicate charges for a single homeowner.

I don’t charge any fee unless you are credited for the error I find.

No find. No fee.

MY Services

Draw Packet Analysis

Most billing errors in custom home construction don't come from bad actors — they come from busy subcontractors, overwhelmed GCs, and Cost-Plus contracts that give no one an incentive to double-check the math.

I do the checking.

  1. You send me the draw packets.

  2. I complete the audit in 3–6 days.

  3. I present you with documented, indisputable findings — and we decide how to move forward.

A detailed invoice listing various costs related to construction or renovation work. Items include stairs deposit, bonding, concrete driveway labor, patching drywall, countertops, and job site cleanup, among others. There are notes indicating duplicated invoices, invoices for the wrong job, and incomplete or pending items like snow removal and final inspection. Handwritten annotations in red highlight discrepancies, with some entries marked as sketchy or incomplete.

Punch List Creation

A "finished" home is rarely finished. I inspect every square foot and document what your GC still owes you — with detailed lists and visual PDFs you can put directly in their hands.

GENeral Contractor SELECTION

Choosing the wrong general contractor is the most expensive mistake you can make before construction even starts. My firsthand experience auditing builds across Park City's top contractors gives you rare, unfiltered insight into how they actually operate — before you sign anything. Building a custom home means trusting a lot of people with a lot of money.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

A Home Owner in Promontory, Park City

“Our custom home build-project was entering the final phase when we realized the scope of reviewing the cumulative invoicing packets and formulating our punchlist was going to exceed our bandwidth and expertise.

Without an experienced advocate, we would have definitely overpaid and been stuck with unresolved construction issues.

It’s been a HUGE improvement in our peace of mind and has led to a renewed sense of control over our project. My husband and I agreed would just never do any size project without an advocate, ever again, after our experience with Eric.”

Another Home Owner in Promontory, Park City

“I highly recommend Eric and his services if you have any question about your construction budget or project. A significant benefit from Eric’s work was a thorough review of our budget. His review was of all GC draw requests (which in our case was 27 draws over 3 years). This included a complete review and inspection of all back up invoices from subs and suppliers. Although we (and our bank) reviewed each draw on a timely basis during construction, there turned out to be several errors that Eric found.

He was invaluable in addressing a lengthy and detailed punch list. We had a good builder but there is always follow up and completion on items that must be addressed and covered during the typical 1-year warranty period after Certificate of Occupancy.

Eric’s commercial and project management skills are excellent. His skill set translated perfectly into a complete review of our custom build here in Park City. He’s a great owner’s rep!”

The manner in which Eric located, compiled and organized the information allowed for an indisputable claim for a refund, which was honored by our builder.

Eric also handled the situation with tact and professionalism which allowed for our good relations with our builder to be kept in tact.

Whether for peace of mind or to recover money you didn’t know you were owed, I recommend working with Eric to review invoices connected with a home building project.

Promontory Owner #4

Eric took a couple days to review all of our invoices (there was alot!). Fortunately we got a clean bill of health, and he didn’t charge us a dime for his services. It was great to get that peace of mind!

We got lucky. He said not finding anything during an audit of this scale is rare. The other builds he’s audited here in Promontory he’s found some significant indisputable errors.

Even if you don’t suspect errors, there’s no downside to speaking with Eric about your build. We highly recommend - if nothing else you get that peace of mind…without paying a dime.
